Kate Middleton STUNS as she shows off slender frame in slinky gown for museum opening
Kate Middleton, 36, was in London’s South Kensington this evening opening a museum exhibition.
The Duchess was opening the Victoria & Albert’s new Photography Centre, herself now the patron of the museum.
Glowing as she made her full return to the spotlight, Kate stunned in a slinky, black and white dress.
Showing off her enviable post-baby body, the dress clung to Kate’s slender frame and swished in the wind as she walked.
The stunning Erdem dress came to just above Kate’s ankles, elongating her statuesque frame.
Fishtail in shape, it clung tightly to her upper body and legs, before whimsically floating out.
It featured a low neckline cut in a geometric shape, falling slightly off the shoulder – a style favourited by her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle.
The quirky dress was covered in checkered print and featured gold and black buttons running up the middle.
On her right lapel, there was an embroidered floral design, another quirky addition to the gown.
Adding a pop of colour to the grey dress, Kate wore a burgundy satin belt around her waist.
Her shoes matched the burgundy accessory, with Kate wearing a pair of velvet pointed-toe stilettos in the same deep red.
Toning down the vibrant dress, she carried with her a simple black clutch bag.
She also wore her glossy brunette hair in her signature style, freshly blow-dried and falling around her shoulders.
In true Kate style her makeup was simple and minimalistic, with just a subtle brown smokey eye, pink cheeks and nude lips.
Adding another striking element to the outfit were her earrings, which were hooped with floral and pearl detail.
The mother-of-three glowed as she greeted museum patrons and guests,
This is Kate’s third public appearance since coming out of maternity leave.
The Duchess gave birth to Prince Louis in April, taking six months off to bond with her baby and keep out of the public eye.
However, she has now fully returned to the spotlight, making her return to public duties last week.
Dressing casually for her first post-baby engagement, Kate wore a pair of biker jeans, tassel boots, jumper and green jacket.
How did Kate Middleton become a royal?
Early life
Kate Middleton, or Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, was born on 9 January 1982 at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, England.
She was born to Michael and Carole Middleton, a former flight dispatcher and air hostess. The couple founded a party supplies company, Party Pieces, in 1987 – now estimated to be worth £30 million.
Kate has a younger sister Pippa Matthews, 34, and a younger brother James Middleton, 31.
Education
Kate and her family moved to Amman, Jordan, in 1984, where the future Duchess was educated at an English-speaking nursery school.
After moving back to Berkshire the family sent Kate to private school, St Andrews School. She went on to briefly study at Downe House before moving onto Marlborough College where she boarded.
For university the young Kate attended the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Here she was awarded an undergraduate MA (2:1 Hons) in history of art.
Relationship with Prince William
Kate met Prince William when they were both studying at St Andrews, and both living in St Salvator’s Hall. Famously, William reportedly took a fancy to Kate after she wore a see-through dress during a fashion show.
In 2003 the couple began dating and lived together during their second year of university.
The couple split in April 2007, however, in October they were back together.
Wedding
Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his late mother Princess Diana’s engagement ring in October 2010. The couple were holidaying in Kenya at the time.
On 29 April 2011 they married at Westminster Abbey with a whopping 26 million watching the event live.
Kate wore an Alexander McQueen dress worth a reported £250,000 on the big day.
Kate assumed the title “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge” and also become the Duchess of Cambridge on the day.
