Man City team news: Predicted line up vs Shakhtar – will Kevin De Bruyne play?
Manchester City travel to face Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine on Tuesday night with star man Kevin De Bruyne back among the squad.
Pep Guardiola‘s men were in rampant form at the weekend as they cruised to a 5-0 demolition of Burnley at the Etihad.
City will be keen to keep up their momentum in all competitions and will name a strong XI on the trip, though De Bruyne may have to wait for his chance to start.
The Belgian ace featured for half an hour at the weekend and may have to settle for the same again on Tuesday.
Guardiola will not want to rush his star man back to action, especially with a host of midfield options at his disposal.
Bernardo Silva and David Silva were both withdrawn mid-way through the second half against Burnley meaning they will be fresh to face Shakhtar.
Sterling was an unused substitute versus Sean Dyche’s men and looks sure to start in place of Riyad Mahrez.
Gabriel Jesus is likely to replace Sergio Aguero in attack with Leroy Sane completing the front three.
Danilo, Ilkay Gundogan and Claudio Bravo are all injured though Kyle Walker will return to the side after missing a game.
Benjamin Mendy provided another assist at the weekend and is set to cement his place as City’s regular left-back ahead of Fabian Delph.
Predicted Man City team vs Shakhtar
(4-3-3) Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Mendy; B. Silva, Fernandinho, D. Silva; Sterling, Jesus, Sane.
