Melania Trump wears £825 Victoria Beckham jacket to host local students at The White House

Melania Trump, 48, was joined by US Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to welcome thirty local sixth-grade students to the White House as part of her Be Best campaign.

She wore a brown leather and blue seude jacket from Victoria, Victoria Beckham – the British fashion designer’s diffusion line. It is still available to buy, and cost £825.

Mum-of-one Melania paired this with some simple blue skinny jeans and a pair of blue suede stiletto heels.

Her hair was worn in loose curls over her shoulders, and she sported a heavy smoky eye to complement the colours of the jacket.

As part of the event, the group watched “Wonder,” a film about a young boy with a facial deformity who is bullied at school.

The film was chosen because of its message of choosing kindness, the first lady’s office said, with Melania picking the film herself.

She had not yet seen it, seeing it for the first time alongside the 30 students.

Melania also addressed the group, and said: “As you may know, October is National Bullying Prevention Month and I encourage everybody to be kind to each other, to treat each other with respect in every day life and social media. Can you do that?”

First Lady Melania was relatively unknown until her husband Donald Trump became President of the USA in 2017.

Ever since entering The White House, their marriage has come under scrutiny, with a new book released recently making many claims about the First Lady and her marriage and explores the most important women in the President’s life.

Golden Handcuffs: The Secret History of Trump’s Women was released last Tuesday, written by Nina Burleigh, claims that Melania married Donald for “protection” and because she wanted a “father figure”.

According to People, the book reads: “It’s about all that power and protection. I think she needed a strong man, a father figure.”

Nina is reportedly an old friend of Melania’s, but the White House shut down the claims.

Making more shock claims, Nina says that Melania’s marriage to Donald came with her having to play a certain role.

“The rewards of submission to Donald’s ‘vitality’ and whims were great.

“Ensconced in the gold-plated triplex with servants above, and Tiffany and Gucci down below, and a chauffeured car to move her around Manhattan, plus the summer home in Bedminster and the winter mansion in Palm Beach, Melania soon forgot what it was like to shop at Crate & Barrel — which she had done to fill the Union Square pad,” the author is said to have written.

The book continues: “Of course, there was a small price to pay to keep the wolf of financial mediocrity at bay.

“There was a role to play… Melania would play sex kitten Slovenian.”

The White House released a statement condemning the book and claiming the anonymous sources in the book were not true.
