Kate Middleton copies Meghan Markle's signature look in skinny jeans for visit to Essex

Kate Middleton, 36, was in Basildon, Essex today with her husband Prince William, 36. 

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in town to visit Coach Core, an apprentice programme that helps young people get into sports.

The scheme is a project of The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

For the special day, Kate braved the autumn chill in an outfit reminiscent of Meghan Markle.

The Duchess wore a stylish monochrome ensemble, made up of a tailored blazer, polo neck and black skinny jeans.

The elegant grey and white blazer featured a checkered print, with Kate wearing it casually undone. In true Meghan style, the £625 blazer was by Canadian brand Smythe.

It was cinched in at the waist and had large pocket detailing, with a black trim around the collar.

Underneath she wore a warming black polo neck jumper, similar in style to the ones worn by the Duchess of Sussex.

Dressing down the smart blazer, Kate wore a slinky pair of skinny black jeans, showing off her enviable figure.

On her feet, she swapped her usual sky-high heels for a comfortable-looking pair of low-heeled black ankle boots.

Adding some glamour to her more subdued, casual look, Kate wore a huge pair of diamond drop-down earrings.

Her makeup was also suitably glamorous, with the 36-year-old sporting a brown smokey eye, pink blushed and subtle pink lip.

Her hair was style in her signature bouncy, curly blow dry.

William also appeared to be dressed down, wearing a blue zip-up jumper and casual blue trousers.

The couple’s visit had been organised to highlight the work being down by Coach Core through sport.

The outfit was a stark contrast to the last time Kate was seen in public, which was during a state dinner at Buckingham Palace. 

Earlier this month, the British Royal Family put on the state banquet at Buckingham Palace for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands.

The Duchess of Cambridge opted to wear the Cambridge Lovers Knot Tiara, which was previously owned by Princess Diana.

It isn’t the first time she has opted for the particular tiara, as she often opts for the jewelled crown at diplomatic events.

She previously wore it to a state banquet in 2017 to welcome a Spanish state visit, as well as to the annual winter party at Buckingham Palace the same year.
