Fantastic Beasts 2 FIRST REACTIONS: ‘Crimes of Grindelwald’s ending leaves you SPEECHLESS’
The second film in JK Rowling’s Harry Potter prequel series arrives in the next couple of weeks and some lucky fans have already seen it.
Alongside a few critics, the first reactions to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald have been overwhelmingly positive.
Depp, who only cameoed in the first film as the villainous Gellert Grindelwald, has a much more prominent role in the sequel.
Critics have praised his “outstanding performance”, with one calling it “perfection”.
Meanwhile, the visuals and action throughout the film have received high praise, with a number of fans retweeted by JK Rowling saying The Crimes of Grindelwald was better than Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
It sounds like there will be lots of “unexpected moments”, while one critic teased “an ending that will leave you speechless.”
A number of fans said how the film blew their minds, so whatever is revealed will no doubt have some big connections to the Harry Potter series.
One fan tweeted: “My boggart is Crimes of Grindelwald spoilers.”
Of course, not everyone liked the film though, with one critic calling it “erratic” and an “overstuffed mess”.
Even going as far as criticising it for “fan service” similar to Gandalf’s battle with The Nine in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
Meanwhile, Johnny Depp is reported to be out of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise for good.
According to Daily Mail TV, the screenwriter of the first Pirates film, Stuart Beattie, nodded when it was suggested that Depp was out.
Beattie said: “I think he’s had a great run. Obviously, he’s made that character his own and it’s become the character he’s most famous for now.
“And kids all over the world love him as that character so I think it’s been great for him, it’s been great for us, so I’m just very, very happy about it.
“I think Jack Sparrow will be his legacy. It’s the only character he’s played five times, it’s the character he dresses up in to visit children in hospitals, it’s what he’ll be remembered for.”
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald will be released in UK Cinemas on November 16, 2018.
