Donald Trump and Melania hold hands in rare display – First Lady beams in new pictures

Melania Trump and her husband Donald Trump greeted the White House Christmas tree yesterday.

This is a ceremonial event, and the pair where seen holding hands at the event.

The enormous tree was brought to the White House on a green kart with red wheels.

It was pulled by two Clydesdale horses in a rather grand Christmas display.

This is will be Melania and Donald’s third Christmas in the White House.

Last year Melania decorated the historic building with glittering lights.

Who knows how the stylish First Lady will dress the enormous stately home this year.

However, it is clear she has quite the canvas to work with, starting with this enormous tree.

At the festive gathering the former-model wore a red tartan cape.

The $3,995 (£3,110.91) garment is from American designer Michael Kors.

She added black trousers and black boots to the look and her hair was perfectly blowdried.

Donald, on the other hands, wore a black suit with a black wool coat.

He added a white shirt and a red tie, matching with his wife.

Recently Melania Trump addressed online bullying after hitting out at critics.

She attended the Family Online Safety Institute 2018 annual conference, titled: Creating a Culture of Responsibility Online.

She later wrote online: “Enjoyed hearing from some very bright students on how they are taking action around the importance of online safety and responsibility.

“Thank you Family Online Safety Institute and all the participants from today for tackling this very important issue.”

The former model’s current campaign is titled Be Best.

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.

This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.

Religion

After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.

She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.

Charity

On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.

There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
