Kate Middleton vs Meghan Markle: Kate wears THIS to ‘distinguish’ herself from new royal

Kate Middleton, 36, and her sister-in-law Meghan Markle, 37, are often admired for their style.

As well as having their own interests and focus on different charities, the royals make different fashion choices too.

From their clothes to their accessories, the two fashion-forward Duchess’ often both ooze elegance.

Now, one expert has claimed that the Duchess of Cambridge could have made a subtle fashion choice in order to “distinguish” herself from the Duchess of Sussex.

So, what is the item which Kate has been wearing recently?

The mother-of-three has been spotted sporting a headband a number of times this year.

Only this month, at a service of remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Sunday, the Duchess wore a chic black velvet headband, which is by Jane Taylor and retails at £890.

She teamed the look with a green coat, which also featured velvet trims.

Earlier this year, Kate was pictured wearing another stunning headpiece, while attending the wedding of her friend Sophie Carter in Norfolk.

The royal had opted for an all-blue ensemble – stepping out in a Catherine Walker coat dress.

When it came to accessories, the Duchess opted for a bold blue headpiece – which had been embellished with large flowers.

She added a pair of sparkling drop earrings, as well as a stunning pendant necklace.

This particular type of headpiece was first seen being worn by Kate earlier this year, at Prince Louis’ christening in July.

Kate opted for similar toned clothes to the young prince, who she cradled in her arms during the event.

Her cream dress had a relatively simple design, with the Duchess reserving pattern for the headband – also by Jane Taylor.

A unique twist to a fascinator – which are usually seen at similar milestone events – the cream item had a woven design, and was adorned with fabric cut into flowers.

Speaking to Mail Online’s FEMAIL, stylist Rochelle White said of the recent accessories: “I think Kate could be trying to distinguish herself from Meghan.”

The stylist also noted the similarity between a headband and a tiara, before discussing how the former suits most royal engagements.

Last week, Meghan and Kate were pictured attending an event together, with their husbands, Prince Harry, 34, and Prince William, 36.

The quartet had been pictured at the annual Royal Foundation autumn dinner, with singer Tom Walker later posting some snaps of the star-studded do on Instagram.
