Jamie Dornan speaks out on Fifty Shades movies with Dakota Johnson: ‘It’s just a job’

The actor portrayed Christian Grey in the franchise, which came to an end with Fifty Shades Freed back in February. Despite a critical mauling across the board, the series went down well with fans – racking up a combined total of more than $1.3 billion in box office receipts. Now, Dornan has looked back on his time in the R-rated trilogy.

“For me, it’s just a job,” he told i News of keeping his sanity in tact.

“But it is mad because it has a different attention on it.

“I might never do something under so much scrutiny again.”

The movies generated huge interest in Dornan and Johnson, and they each built up massive fanbases.

But with so much adoration comes a lot of day-to-day attention, which Dornan said he combated by deciding not to live in a city.

“They’re fairly feverish,” he admitted.

When asked how he coped, he explained: “You move to the countryside and try to keep a very quiet life.”

Now, the star is promoting his role in the new live-action retelling of Robin Hood.

In it, he will play Will Tillman, husband of Eve Hewson’s Marian.

Taron Egerton is in the title role, with Ben Mendelsohn, Jamie Foxx, Tim Minchin, F Murray Abraham and Paul Anderson also on board.

Johnson, meanwhile, has recently been seen in Suspiria and Bad Times At The El Royale.

Robin Hood is out on Friday.
