Camilla Duchess of Cornwall shows off style credentials at fashion show in chic black gown
Sporting her trademark hairstyle the Duchess styled her short blonde locks into a structured wave swept away from her face to truly flaunt her extortionately priced jewellery.
Keeping warm with a pair of tights, Camilla’s dress fell just below her knees so she finished off the look with a classic pair of pointed black heels.
The 71 year old has been president of the National Osteoporosis Society since 2001, after her mother and grandmother both died with the condition.
The event, that saw showcased a display of Julien Macdonald’s latest collection recently featured at London Fashion Week, aimed to raise £300,000.
Camilla’s outfit came after daughter-in-law Meghan Markle wore a similar patterned outfit earlier on in the week to the Royal Variety Performance.
The Duchess of Sussex wore a strappy black top adorned with white embellishments creating a leafy floral pattern, teaming it with a figure-hugging black skirt.
Camilla’s outfit was of course slightly more understated but was an incredibly flattering style for the Duchess.
During the glittering night, Camilla and the guests also celebrated the Queen’s decision to give a royal title to the association, which from 2019 will be known as the Royal Osteoporosis Society.
Among the attendees expected on the night there were Dame Shirley Bassey, Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch, Alan Carr, Janette Manrara and Aljaz Skorjanec, Ronan Keating and Storm Keating.
Camilla has joined her husband in increasing the amount of royal engagements as Prince Charles prepares to become King.
And when the day comes Camilla is likely to be known as Queen Consort when Charles becomes king, according to Joe Little, editor of Majesty Magazine.
The royal expert explained that Charles would want Camilla’s title to reflect his new role.
Mr Little said: “I think that Prince Charles when King would want his wife’s title to reflect his new status.
“When the time comes I think we will have a Queen Camilla.”
It comes after Charles previously insisted Camilla would be known as Princess Consort when the pair wed in 2005.
At the time of their wedding, the couple faced pressure over the breakdown of Charles’s first marriage to Princess Diana.
But the public have warmed to Camilla as she has carried out royal duties with her husband and all references to Camilla being known as Princess Consort in the future were removed from Clarence House’s website earlier this year.
