Christmas Chronicles musicians: Who is the Band in The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix

Starring Kurt Russell as Santa Claus, Darby Camp as Kate and Judah Lewis as Teddy, the Christmas Chronicles is an action-packed race to save Christmas spirit. 

When people don’t feel the awe of Christmas or get a present or two, bad things happen – and these bad things threaten to return as Santa’s yearly route around the world is disrupted. 

One way to boost seasonal morale, despite the fact Santa finds himself in jail, is for him to arrange an impromptu musical show.

Santa’s cellmates are transformed at the snap of his fingers into a blues-rock band.

Who Is the Band in The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix?

For those who have seen the film, one musician might have seemed like a familiar face. 

This is because he is Steven Van Zandt, who rose to fame as a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. 

He is also known as Little Steven, with his band the Disciples of Soul performing alongside Santa in The Christmas Chronicles. 

The Disciples play “Santa Claus Is Back in Town” with Santa himself on lead vocals.

The film’s producer, Chris Columbus, is also known for the Home Alone movies and the first two Harry Potter films. 

Columbus has a history with Little Steven, having used the song All Alone on Christmas in Home Alone, which was written by Van Zandt and performed by Darlene Love.

Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul recently released Soulfire Live!, a three-CD and LP collection of the group’s first tour in more than two decades.

The whole gang crowds into those two neighbouring cells behind Santa, and Little Steven.
