Creed 2 end credits: Is there a post-credits scene in Creed 2? What does it mean?

Creed II returns to our cinema screens once more, for the follow-up to the original film. Michael B Jordon and Sylvester Stallone reprise their roles as Adonis Johnson and Rocky Balboa in the sequel. In the film, Adonis has been challenged to a boxing match by his greatest opponent yet; Viktor Drago and Rocky serves as his trainer and mentor.

Does the film have a post-credits scene?

Creed II does not have an end credits scene, nor a mid-credits scene.

Instead, the movie includes some stylised graphics – based on screenshots from the film – during the first half of its credits, before the more traditional credits start to roll.

The credits also include some old still photos of Apollo Creed and Rocky.

Apollo is Rocky’s enemy turned friend who was killed in a boxing match in Rocky IV and is the father of Adonis Creed.

Creed II is the eighth film in the Rocky franchise and the second focused on Apollo Creed’s son.

The film follows Adonis as he faced Viktor Drago, the son of Ivan Drago.

Viktor killed Apollo in the ring and so the fight is a deeply personal one for Adonis.

Creed II is a self-contained narrative and leaves all plot threads tied up, but it is not designed to serve as a finale to the Creed series either.

Jordan has gone on the record to say he is up for making follow-up Creed films.

He told the Toronto Sun: “If I’m lucky. I want to keep making them as long as they’re good.

“I always want to keep my finger on the pulse. Viktor’s storyline is very layered. The two guys are similar in a lot of ways…Adonis feels, naturally a certain animosity towards Viktor and Ivan, and then there are other themes in there; the maturity of growth, the importance of family, of legacy, is what makes Creed so special.

“It’s not just about revenge. It’s about a lot of things…If we get that lesson across, then I think we’ve made a pretty special movie.”

Creed II also explores Adonis’ relationship with Bianca Porter (Tessa Thompson) – his longtime girlfriend – who has a thriving career as a singer-songwriter, in spite of her diminishing hearing which opens up further storylines.

The film opened in the USA on November 21, 2018 and has been well-received by critics and fans.

Creed II was directed by Steven Caple Jr and writer Cheo Hodari Coker.
