Aquaman streaming: How to stream Aquaman online? Is it legal?

DC Comics Aquaman is back on screens with Jason Momoa bringing life to the titular character. The epic film is set in the DC Extended Universe and will see the surface and sea worlds converging as Aquaman fights to protect the Earth. Due for release in December, superhero fans don’t have too long to wait to catch the film in cinemas.

Jason Momoa plays half human, half Atlantean, reluctant hero and ruler of Atlantis and King of the Seven Seas, Aquaman aka Arthur Curry.

Aquaman finds himself caught between the sea and the surface worlds.

His half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) seeks to unite the seven kingdoms against the surface world, and Aquaman must fight to prevent this.

Amber Heard plays Aquaman’s love interest Mera, a warrior and daughter of King Nereus (Dolph Lundgren).

Can you stream Aquaman online? Is it legal?

Aquaman is not set for release in the UK until December 14 2018, and December 21, 2018 in the USA.

The film will be solely able to be seen in cinemas from those dates, so for anyone wishing to see the film at home you’ll have to wait until the DVD release.

Any sites purporting to have Aquaman available to stream are likely to be illegal, to be forewarned.

Release dates for DVD and Blu-ray have yet to be announced but when it is available to buy it is likely there will be digital copies available too.

There has been a long wait for the film, as it was originally due to be released in July, before being pushed back to October and now December.

The world premiere of the film took place on November 26 at Empire, Leicester Square.

Although reviews won’t be released until early next month, critics have taken to Twitter to express their opinions on the undersea adventure.

Gizmodo’s Germaine Lussier described Aquaman as a “big, fun, wild ride,” while Den of Geek’s Mike Cecchini said it “leans hard into its ’80s fantasy/adventure movie vibe.”

Jason Momoa has been praised for making “the character his own” and We Live Entertainment’s Ashley Menzel said Momoa “brings Aquaman out of the shadows to stand alongside the greats like Wonder Woman.”

The visual effects and director James Wan were also praised.

Wan is known for his work on horror movies such as Saw and The Conjuring, with comic book action film Aquaman a departure from his usual genre.

However, Fandango’s Erik Davis described Wan as the movie’s “true star”.

Aquaman is in UK cinemas from December 14, and in the USA from December 21.
