Captain Marvel trailer time: When will the new teaser be released in the US and UK?

In the early hours of this morning, UK time, Marvel confirmed that their latest superhero will get a new trailer during ESPN’s Monday Night Football coverage. No specific time has been nailed down, but when can fans likely expect to see Brie Larson in action? Let’s look at the evidence.

The kickoff of the match between Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins is at 8:15pm eastern time – which is 5:15pm in LA and 1:15am in the UK.

Yes, it’s incredibly unlikely that British fans will get the trailer this side of midnight.

The window in which the footage could drop is quite big: NFL games can last as long as three hours or more.

However, it seems reasonable to guess that the trailer will arrive at half time, given that Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Black Panther have also previously had new promos air at that time.

This means that we can likely expect to meet Carol Danvers at around 10pm ET – that’s 7pm PT, and 3am in the UK.

As ever, the trailer will almost definitely be released to the Marvel Studios and Captain Marvel feeds on Twitter and Facebook, as well as Marvel’s YouTube channel.

The full trailer comes almost three months after the teaser, which revealed a first look at Larson in the title role but was criticised for featuring the voice of Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury more prominently.

Presumably the new, longer glimpse at the film will put a bigger spotlight on Larson herself.

Marvel fans are also currently anticipating the first trailer for Avengers 4, which is heavily rumoured to be arriving on Wednesday morning. In fact, a Disney official seemed to inadvertently confirm it.

The two films are released just two months apart; with Larson expected to feature in both.

They’ll be followed by Spider-Man: Far From Home next summer.
