Captain Marvel trailer: How to watch BRAND NEW Captain Marvel trailer online

When the first Captain Marvel trailer was released back in September, it’s safe to say the Internet was here for it. Fast forward three months and the second trailer for Captain Marvel has arrived. The two minute and 18-second trailer was dropped during America’s Monday Night Football. This meant fans in the UK would have had to be awake in the middle of the night to catch it live.

The second trailer opens with a scene fans will find familiar, as it was featured in the first teaser.

Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers) is on a subway train in Los Angeles, where she encounters an old woman.

As she does so, Samuel L Jackson’s Fury can be heard narrating the story of the Skrull and Kree alien races.

It becomes clear that the old woman is, in fact, a Skrull, and the enemy of Earth (and Captain Marvel herself).

Marvel apparently hoped to clear up the concern over the scene from the first trailer, which had spawned plenty of think pieces.

The second trailer also introduces fans to Annette Benning, and many suspect it is she (not Jude Law) who will be playing Mar-Vell.

While Captain Marvel is, in parts, an origin story it is far from typical.

The trailer delves into Danvers’ memories – or lack thereof – but it also becomes apparent that the memories she experiences may have been planted.

The trailer also gives us a glimpse of her various costumes, and a sneak peek at her Binary state.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes.

She joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the centre of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.”

Viewers are given a further look into the space frontier in which Captain Marvel will battle.

This trailer features more fighting than the previous one, and fans will be delighted at Captain Marvel’s unparalleled strength.

Samuel L Jackson features more heavily, too, in all his age-regression-technology glory.

As Fury, Jackson provides the trailer with an added level of humour, taken for granted in previous Marvel films like Thor: Ragnarok.

Captain Marvel, however, looks to be a far more serious endeavour.

Captain Marvel is released in UK cinemas on March 8, 2019.
