Bumblebee cast: Who stars in the new Transformers movie about Bumblebee?

Bumblebee may have fewer robots than past Transformers movies, but its cast list is still hefty. With five previous movies to learn from, Bumblebee has managed to avoid the trap of its predecessors. The prequel currently holds a rating of 98 per cent on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. With no sign of Shia LeBouef or Megan Fox, a new generation is set to helm to Transformers franchise.

Who is in the Bumblebee cast?

The characters can be broken out into three categories – humans, Autobots (friendly Transformers) and Decepticons (hostile Transformers).

Humans

Hailee Steinfeld plays Charlie Watson, the main protagonist, a teenage girl who finds and befriends Bumblebee.

Jason Drucker (Diary of a Whimpy Kid) plays Charlie’s younger brother Otis Watson.

Pamela Adlon (Californication) plays Sally Watson, Charlie and Otis’ mother.

John Cena plays Jack Burns, an agent of the secret government group Sector 7

Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Love, Simon) as Memo, Charlie’s coworker and friend.

John Ortiz (Jack Goes Boating, Fast and Furious) plays Dr Powell, another agent of Sector 7.

Rory Markham (Setup) plays another Sector 7 agent named Jake Adams.

Other actors include Rachel Crow as Celia, Abby Quinn as Alice, Gracie Dzienny as Tina, Charlie’s classmate, Ricardo Hoyos as Trip, Charlie’s classmate, Kenneth Choi as Ken, Stephen Schneider as Ron, Charlie’s stepfather, and Len Cariou as Hank, the owner of a junkyard Charlie frequents.

Transformers – Autobots

Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) voices Bumblebee, the young Autobot scout who transforms into a yellow 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.

Peter Cullen reprises his role as the voice of Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots.

Grey Griffin (a prolific voice actress from series like Avatar The Last Air Bender, Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends, and more) voices Arcee, a female Autobot.

Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop, Ben 10, and more) voices Wheeljack, an Autobot scientist.

Andrew Morgado (24 Hours to Live) voices Optimus’s first lieutenant, Cliffjumper.

Other Autobots include Kirk Baily as the voice of Brawn and Dennis Singletary as the voice of Ratchet, an Autobot medic.

Transformers – Decepticons

Angela Bassett as the voice of Shatter, a Decepticon triple-changer who transforms into a red Plymouth Satellite and a Harrier Jump Jet.

Justin Theroux as the voice of Dropkick, a Decepticon triple-changer who transforms into a blue AMC Javelin and a Bell AH-1 SuperCobra.

David Sobolov as the voice of Blitzwing, a Decepticon seeker who transforms into a red/white McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II.

Jon Bailey as the voices of Shockwave, a Decepticon scientist and Soundwave, a Decepticon Communications officer who houses a series of minions that transforms into cassette tapes.
