Meghan Markle wears earrings worth thousands to meet Kate after ‘rift’ rumours

Meghan Markle, 37, arrived at the Queen’s Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace with Prince Harry, 34.

She wore the same Cartier earrings the former-actress wore on her wedding.

The Galanterie de Cartier earrings were also worn by the actress for the Invictus Games reception in London in April 2018.

She wore the pieces along with more lavish Cartier pieces during her wedding ceremony.

Meghan appeared to wear a high necked top garment on her top half with a blue and yellow ruffled collar.

Kate Middleton, on the other hand, opted for a pink pussy-bow neck shirt.

She accessorised the coral shirt with matching pink blusher.

Large pearl earrings appeared to hang from her ears.

The new Duchess of Sussex is a fan of rather pricey jewels. 

Meghan Markle’s most expensive clothing includes the Reflection de Cartier Bracelet, which costs £116,300.25 excluding tax.

She also has the Cartier Tennis Bracelet, which costs £21,935.33 excluding tax and was a present from Prince Charles.

Kate Middleton’s jewellery is more traditional than Meghan’s.

However, there is a firm jewellery rule that they both must follow. 

News.com.au reports that Kate and Meghan do not wear diamonds except for special occasions.

According to experts the public admire Meghan Markle for being different to mother-of-three Kate. 

Royal biographer Claudia Joseph spoke out on the Victoria Derbyshire programme on BBC.

She said: “The reality is people admire Meghan because she’s trying to bring the Royal family into the 21st century.”

She claimed that Kate, on the other hand, is not looking to shake things up.

The expert added: “(Kate is) very quiet, she’s not trying to change the Royal family, she’s not trying to do anything differently, she’s like William.

“She has been in the press, there have been lots of stories about her over time.”
