Star Wars 9 title and trailer release date 'DELAYED' and fans WON'T like why

Disney enjoy making their fans wait. And wait. And wait. The build-up for the Avengers Endgame trailer dragged through most of the year and arrived at the last possible moment. This week there were reports the Spider-Man trailer, which has already been shown at the CCXP Com Con in Brazil, was imminent. The subsequent news it would be pushed back further reinforced all the hopes that the Star Wars 9 first trailer would be first out of the gate. Unfortueatley, unless it suddenly appears on Thursday, there is no way now Disney will release anything once Mary Poppins hits cinemas on Friday. But what is the reason for the delay?

The Hellboy trailer dropped today, 24 hours earlier than announced due to a sudden online leak. That trailer, along with the Spider-Man Far From Home teaser, had already been shown to preview audiences.

Both has also received their classifications and passes from the controlling trailer authorities.

There have been consistent reports that a Star Wars 9 teaser is finished and ready but there have still been no news (or leaks) of any official classifications, necessary before a trailer can be broadcast.  

A new report claims that Disney has decided to hold the Star Wars materials back to focus on certain other priorities.

The report claims: “There have been reports Disney is debating whether or not to drop the trailer this week or even this month. It has been said that Disney is delaying the Episode 9 trailer for this movie in order to to focus on word of mouth for Avengers Endgame, Captain Marvel and Lion King. Three big Disney releases next year…

“It won’t be attached to Mary Poppins as a lot of people had been suggesting. That’s not to say there won’t be footage this month, maybe something on Christmas Day? Something mixed with Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge?”

Mary Poppins will almost certainly be accompanied by trailers for Lion King, Dumbo and potentially Aladdin.

There are no other major releases over the next few months, meaning the Star Wars materials are more likley to be hooked around another major focal point.

The Xmas Day rumours connect to an eye-witness account of a commercial being filmeed at Disney World for December 25 which contained a reference to a galaxy far, far away. However this could simply be a direct link to the new Star Wars sections coming soon to the major Disney parks. 

The next major potential date is the 2019 Super Bowl on February 3.

Fans will be crossing their fingers they don’t have to wait quite that long…
