The film takes place in 1987 and the transforming robot car Bumblebee is looking for a place to take refuge on earth, hiding out at in California junkyard where a teenage girl named Charlie eventually discovers the Transformer. Unfortunately, Charlie soon learns those other Transformers may have evil intentions during their stay on the planet.

Charlie Watson is a 17-year-old girl who finds Bumblebee in a junkyard owned by her uncle Hank (Len Cariou).

She is traumatized by the death of her father and resents her mother Sally (Pamela Adlon) for remarrying.

Her Uncle gifts her the Autobot for her birthday, and she soon discovers he isn’t your average car.

Who plays Charlie Watson in Bumblebee?

The actress who plays Charlie is Hailee Steinfeld, a 22 year-old born in Los Angeles, California on December 11, 1996.

She is an American actress and singer who has been nominated for an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, and four Critics Choice Awards.

Steinfeld had her breakthrough role in the Coen Brothers’ True Grit (2010) as Mattie Ross.

For her role as Mattie, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Steinfeld continued to gain fame for her roles in Ender’s Game (2013) and Romeo & Juliet (2013).

But Steinfeld actually began acting at the age of 10.

In addition to her acting career, Steinfeld has released one extended play, eleven singles.
