Cheltenham 2019: Glam attendees risk wardrobe malfunctions on windy day 3 of races
Cheltenham Festival 2019 attendees have been joined by royals and celebrities this week, to watch this year’s races. And, as racegoers made their arrivals, there’s been plenty of popular themes and fashion trends to be spotted. Unlike other well-known racing events, the annual Cheltenham races does not have a very strict dress code. And, despite this week’s chilly weather, many of those in attendance have taken the opportunity to dress up in some stunning ensembles.
Throughout the week, tartan outfits, stunning hats, and thigh-high black boots have proved to be a top trend.
And, today was no different.
However, as the racegoers made their arrivals, many were forced to take extra caution as they walked to their relevant race enclosure, in a bid to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.
For instance, many people held onto their hats amid some windy weather.
This was the case for one woman who was sporting a vibrant red wide-brimmed hat.
She teamed the look with a grey and white snake print style dress, which was not overly dissimilar to one worn by Queen Letizia of Spain recently.
Clearly having come well prepared, the woman, who had wrapped up in tights and a furry pale-toned coat, clutched the headgear with both hands while grasping an umbrella.
The woman also wore stylish black boots – a practical choice considering the weather conditions.
Meanwhile, another attendee, sporting a nude body con mini dress, ditched her heels altogether.
As she took a stroll at the event, the woman carried her patent black stilettos with one hand.
Another person was forced to walk with a coat over her head, all in an effort to shield herself from the gusts of wind.
Elsewhere at the races, one racegoers was spotted having to push her hair from her face as she made her way towards the racecourse.
Today’s festivities at the races are known as St Patrick’s Thursday, meaning many chose to make a nod to the occasion by wearing green clothing, as per the tradition of the annual celebration of the late Saint.
Some attendees decided to opt for green and white ensembles.
Meanwhile, others donned green feather boas, shamrock-shaped sunglasses, and green top hats.
Yesterday was Ladies’ Day, with plenty of racegoers dressing to impress with some incredible hats.
