Melania Trump looks angelic at church as Donald fumes over General Motors shut down

Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, attended church with Donald Trump yesterday.

Though Melania is catholic, she attended St. Johns Episcopal church in Washington with her husband.

The mother-of-one to Barron Trump wore a white double breasted coat.

It has pretty scalloped details around the hem.

Just a few hours later Donald took to Twitter to express his anger and about the closure of the Lordstown Ohio General Motors plant.

General Motors has discontinued a number of models and are hoping to save $2.5 billion this year by cutting costs.

However, the president is unhappy with the company.

He tweeted: “Just spoke to Mary Barra, CEO of General Motors about the Lordstown Ohio plant. I am not happy that it is closed when everything else in our Country is BOOMING.

“I asked her to sell it or do something quickly. She blamed the UAW Union — I don’t care, I just want it open!”

Earlier he wrote: “”Democrat UAW Local 1112 President David Green ought to get his act together and produce. G.M. let our Country down, but other much better car companies are coming into the U.S. in droves.

“I want action on Lordstown fast. Stop complaining and get the job done! 3.8 per cent Unemployment!”

Trump and Melania visited the church in a nod to presidential tradition.

Every sitting president has a visited the church at least once since 1816.

There is even a special pew dedicated to the president, which is pew 58.

Fake Melania theories have remerged online, causing humour for some while apparently irritating the president. 

So what exactly is the conspiracy theory, and how did it start?

Some believe that during occasional public appearances a body double has filled in for Melania Trump.

Donald tweeted last week: “The Fake News photoshopped pictures of Melania, then propelled conspiracy theories that it’s actually not her by my side in Alabama and other places.

“They are only getting more deranged with time!”

Melania’s press rep Stephanie Grisham also said, when the theory was discussed on The View: “@flotus & @potus traveled to Alabama to pay their respects & comfort victims of the tornado devastation. In typical fashion, @theview chooses to laugh in the face of tragedy. Shameful.”

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.

This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.

Religion

After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.

She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.

Career

Melania was a successful model, posing for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.

Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.

Family

Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.

She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.

Charity

On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.

There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
