James Bond vs Batman: The SEVEN most loved fictional legends in HISTORY
From Bonnie and Clyde to Winston Churchill, there are some historical figures who live on in cinema. These larger-than-life figures are often played again and again in movie after movie, as the public yearns for more another reimagining of these legends. But sometimes fictional characters become as immortalised as these real-life ones.
Research compiled by Feref analysed which fictional characters have lingered in on-screen representation.
The most loved movie legends of all time are:
James Bond
James Bond was created by novelist Ian Flemming in 1953.
He has gone on to be played by seven different actors, the most recent one being Daniel Craig.
James Bond 25 is out in cinemas on April 8, 2020.
King Arthur
The legendary, not strictly fictitious, character of King Arthur has been given a magical remaking.
The monarch has appeared in modern adaptations, like The Kid Who Would Be King, as well as TV series and period dramas.
Batman
Created by Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger, Batman first appeared in DC Comics number 27 in 1939.
Batman has been a fixture in movies since before the modern superhero-mania.
Sarah Connor
The Terminator character is back in the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate.
Sarah Connor was first introduced in 1984 played by Linda Hamilton, but has been portrayed by Lena Headey (2008–2009), Emilia Clarke, and Willa Taylor (2015).
Terminator: Dark Fate is out in cinemas on October 23, 2019.
Robin Hood
A legend before movies were a twinkle in anyone’s eye, Robin Hood may be the only legend in this list to have been portrayed not only in live action and animated, but also by a fox.
The most recent adaptation saw Taron Egerton don the tights to steal from the rich and give to the poor.
Robin Hood is out on Digital Download from 18th March and on DVD, Blu-ray & 4K UHD from March 25, 2019.
Sherlock Holmes
Sherlock Holmes first began meddling with Scotland Yard in 1887 as the ‘consulting detective’ in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s A Study in Scarlet.

Wonder Woman
