Avengers 4 runtime: FINAL runtime REVEALED by Russo Brothers – what changed?
Avengers: Endgame is less of a movie and more of a pop culture phenomenon. The final instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Three arrives in cinemas in nearly three weeks. When fans head to the cinema on April 25, many will want to know for how long they’ll be in their seats.
What is the confirmed Avengers: Endgame runtime?
Avengers Endgame is going to be a marathon of a film, with a lengthy runtime to boot.
Joe Russo, Endgame’s co-director, told ComicBook.com: “I think it’s three hours and 58 seconds. We just sped up the credits is what we did.”
But if Avengers: Endgame has any post-credits scene, which seems likely, fans will surely want to wait around those extra few minutes.
This new runtime is down from the originally reported runtime of three hours and two minutes.
Speaking to Collider about the runtime, Joe Russo, one of the co-directors, said: “We’re still at the three-hour mark. I think the studio is down with what the best story is.
“Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we’ve had great responses from our test audiences and we’re feeling very good about where it is.
“We’re still doing work to it. We’re not done with it.”
Marvel boss Kevin Feige also discussed the runtime with Collider, saying: “It’s going to be the exact running time that the movie needs to be.

“I think there’s a lot of story in that movie and a lot of characters in that movie.
“In all seriousness, we don’t look at runtimes in terms of mandates, or anything like that.
“Some movies can be 90 minutes and feel like they’re four hours.
“And some movies can be three and a half hours and feel like 90 minutes.”

Ten years of storytelling will culminate in this epic finale to Phase Three of the MCU.
Phase Four seems like it will look into the past, with movies like Black Widow already in production.
And Marvel has a lot on its plate, with the next five years already mapped out.
Avengers: Endgame is out in UK cinemas on Thursday, April 25, 2019.
