Ariana Grande NARROWLY misses Number 1 spot after One Love Manchester concert
The US star’s 2015 song One Last Time became a tribute song for the victims of the city’s terror attack, as it was the encore song at Grande’s gig shortly before a suicide bomber killed 22 people.
This week, it has rocketed to No2, a climb of ten places week-on-week.
It had been spending most of the week at the top of iTunes’ best-seller chart, but was overtaken by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber’s Despacito.
That latter song has now been at the summit for five weeks.
One Last Time achieved 2.9 million streams and 61,000 downloads over the last seven days; while Despacito managed 8.8 million steams and 43,000 downloads.
Bieber also appears at No3 alongside DJ Khaled on I’m The One, while Liam Payne drops one to No4 with Strip That Down and French Montana climbs one to No5 with Black Butter.
Further down, Camila Cabello rises to a new peak of No23 with Crying In The Club.
On the album chart, Ed Sheeran rises one place to reclaim No1, while Beatles slip to No2 with the 50th anniversary release of Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and Roger Waters bows at No3 with Is This The Life We Really Want.
Dua Lipa’s eponymous album bows at No5, while Grande rises to No11 with Dangerous Woman.
Halsey’s hopeless fountain kingdom (lower-case intentional) arrives one place behind, at No12.
Next week will see Katy Perry’s Witness making a challenge for the album crown.
