The Silence trailer has dropped and the Internet cannot handle it. As of writing, the clip has been seen by more than one million people, 1.8m and counting. Here is all you need to know including how to stream, when it’s out, and who stars.

When is The Silence out on Netflix?

The Silence will be available to stream on Netflix from April 10, 2019.

This is also a global debut, so Netflix users across the world will see the film on the same date (except Germany which has a Mary 16 release date).

Some Netflix releases get limited theatrical runs, like Roma and Bird Box.

But The Silence is not one of them, so to watch you’ll have to have a Netflix subscription.

Who stars in The Silence?

The cast is full of A-list names who you may recognise from other Netflix specials.

Kiernan Shipka, star of The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, plays Ally Andrews.

Stanley Tucci, Miranda Otto, and John Corbett play the Andrews’ family, though their characters’ first names are unknown.

Kate Trotter and Kyle Breitkopf also appear in the film, though their characters are also unnamed.

The Silence is based on the 2015 horror novel of the same name by Tim Lebbon.

What is the plot of The Silence?

The Silence tells the story of a family struggling to survive in a world terrorized by a deadly, primaeval species.

They have evolved for millions of years in the pitch darkness of a vast underground cave system, hunting only with their acute hearing.

As the family seeks refuge in a remote haven where they can wait out the invasion, they start to wonder what kind of world will remain when they’re ready to emerge.

Then, they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses.
