Cannes 2019: Could Quentin Tarantino movie be REPLACED by Greta Gerwig's Little Women?
Once Upon A Time is Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film in a 27-year career. Tarantino has often said he will only make 10 movies in his lifetime. The Cannes veteran has been nominated for three Palme d’Or awards, but this year may not even make the festival.
Will Quentin Tarantino be replaced by Greta Gerwig at this year’s Cannes?
Last week Sony revealed it had a contingency plan in place in case Tarantino’s period Hollywood action film wasn’t ready in times for 2019’s Cannes Film Festival.
Variety initially reported that in this event, Greta Gerwig’s Little Women would be screened instead.
However, their article now states Little Women will not bow at Cannes.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction world premiere at Cannes.

Showing Once Upon a Time in Hollywood at this year’s festival would be a fitting way to celebrate Tarantino’s career.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is said to be in post-production.
Tarantino will likely be working overtime to make sure the 1960s set film is ready for the festival.
Express.co.uk’s educated guess is the film will screen at the festival but fall short of Thursday’s announcements.
Cannes has been contacted regarding this possibility, and this article will be updated if and when a response is attained.
However, not everyone is best pleased with his ninth movie being given a late entry if it isn’t ready in time for Thursday’s announcement.
Fans of Gerwig, who believe the director was snubbed at 2017’s Oscars, were delighted at the prospect of her Cannes debut.
A popular Twitter meme began to circulate, using keyboard symbols to illustrate Gerwig at the top of a set of stairs, her leg raised in a kicking motion, with Tarantino at the bottom.

Some were quick to defend Tarantino and decry the presumed violence in the meme.
Others pointed out that the post was just a meme, and advocates nothing in particular and was simply a satirical comment on the situation.
Both movies have A-list casts, though Tarantino’s is far more expansive.
Leonardo DiCaprio plays Rick Dalton, an actor who starred in the Western television series Bounty Law from 1958 to 1963.
