Marvel Cinematic Universe: What order should you watch Marvel movies in before Endgame?
There is not enough time now to watch all 21 precursors before Avengers: Endgame arrives in cinemas. However, fans who are not heading to the cinema on the opening night may be able to to work their way through this list. Here is the order in which Express.co.uk recommends watching the MCU before you see Endgame if you’ve got the time.
Phase One movies:
Phase One introduced us to Tony Stark, the entrepreneur wealthy bad-boy who was thrust into the role of a superhero.
In Phase One, Marvel introduced its first-time jump – with Captain America: The First Avengers taking place in the 40s during World War II.
However, the 2011 Chris Evans movie should still be viewed fifth in this list for story continuity.
Likewise, Captain Marvel is the second movie chronologically, taking place in the 1990s, but in release order is the most recent film before Endgame.

Phase Three movies
With Phase Three, fans were introduced to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Black Panther, but perhaps most importantly Captain Marvel.
Black Panther helped breathe new enthusiasm into the Marvel franchise, with its stellar characters and outstanding performances while Captain Marvel gave Marvel’s female fans much-needed representation.
Phase Three culminates with Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019.
Captain Marvel comes first, another instance where the chronology doesn’t fit with the release date.
Captain Marvel is set in the 1990s and features some familiar faces.
Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Doctor Strange (2016)
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Black Panther (2018)
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)
Captain Marvel (2019)
The fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be championed by Captain Marvel, taking the baton from Iron Man.
Avengers: Endgame is out in UK cinemas on Thursday, April 25, 2019.
