Avengers Endgame spoilers: THAT Avenger's death should NEVER be undone and here's why

Fans everywhere knew Avengers: Endgame set out to resurrect their fallen favourites. In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos used the Infinity Stones to wipe out half of existence across the Universe. Yet, it seemed a given almost all of them would be resurrected and some felt the impact of the ‘deaths’ was lessened. Warning: spoilers below.

This is one death that should not be reversed, and why.

Fans who have already seen Avengers: Endgame know a Marvel stalwart died.

Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, used the Infinity Gauntlet to snap Thanos’ armies out of existence so the Avengers could win.

In doing so he sacrificed himself, which he undeniably knew would happen.

Many fans were bereft at this loss, and are already planning for how he could return in future Marvel films.

Yet, there is an argument that Tony Stark should stay dead.

The death toll from Infinity War, though huge was not taken seriously.

Fans knew that, given the sequels and spin-offs in the pipeline, many of the heroes would come back.

Even if Iron Man came back in a flashback, just seeing his face would lessen the feeling of the finality of his death.

Robert Downey Jr is the actor who has been part of Marvel since 2008.

He was considered by many to be the face of the Avengers and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.

As of writing, Downey Jr has not commented on the fate of Iron Man.

Iron Man’s legacy will live on, however, in the surviving Avengers, like his mentee Spider-Man.

Also featured in Endgame was Harley Keener, the young boy from Iron Man 3 who bonds with Stark and is gifted computers at the end of the film.

Fans suspected this could mean Keener might take up the Iron Man mantle.

However, others suspect the Marvel comic character Ironheart could become a prominent fixture in Phase Four of the MCU.

Ironheart, aka Riri Williams, was created by Brian Michael Bendis and designed by Mike Deodato.

She first appeared in Invincible Iron Man Vol. 2 number 7 before becoming a comic’s staple two issues later.

In the comics, Tony Stark hears Riri was able to build her own Iron Man suit and goes to meet her where he says he will endorse her decision to be a superhero.

Whether she features in the films remains to be seen.
