Avengers Endgame: Peggy Carter star Hayley Atwell reveals BRILLIANT Captain America moment

WARNING: Spoilers for Avengers Endgame ahead.

Atwell plays Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; first arriving in Captain America: The First Avenger.

She briefly reprised the role for Avengers: Endgame, which saw Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) seeing her as he travelled back through time.

At the end of the film, he chose to remain in ‘the past’ to enjoy a full married life with her.

The final scene of the film then saw him having his long-overdue dance with her.

Atwell has celebrated the release of the record-shattering Marvel movie with a series of Instagram DubSmash clips she recorded over the years.

DubSmash is an app on which users can lipsync to famous audio clips, including songs.

In one particular clip, she and James D’Arcy (Jarvis) are seen miming to a couple of lines from Queen’s Another One Bites The Dust – before Evans himself appears from behind Steve’s iconic shield.

Atwell captioned it: “Final homage ‘cause I know you guys want it.

“This is from the time when James D’Arcy and I flew from LA to Atlanta at 4am just to record an 8 second dubsmash and fly home again.

“We take our competitive silliness extremely seriously. Thank you.”

On another Dubsmash throwback, she said: “This role will always be dear to me.”

Carter got her own spin-off series, Agent Carter, which built up a fiercely loyal fanbase but was controversially cancelled after two seasons.

In the MCU timeline, Carter’s funeral took place during Captain America: Civil War – so presumably Steve will still have lost her by the end of Endgame, the majority of which is set in 2023.

Avengers: Endgame has had phenomenal box office success, and is already the fifth highest-grossing movie of all time.
