Star Wars 9 huge 'RESURRECTION' clue revealed in new poster: Is it who we think?

May the Fourth has filled Star Wars fans with renewed hope. Buoyed with the recent excellent first trailer and slightly perplexing title reveal (is it even grammatically correct?) all eyes are on what will come in December. Last time around there were some intriguing teases and new information from international posters and promo materials, and this time is no different. One foreign translation just revealed a massive potential clue a certain character could be coming back to life – and no, we’re not talking about Leia’s inserted scene or Palpatine’s hugely anticipated return.

There has been huge fan anticipation that somehow Luke Skywalker will be back in Episode IX. Mark Hamill is already confirmed to appear, but many suspect he will simply be in flashback scenes, or more excitingly, Force ghost scenes.

But what if Luke was actually brought back to life? This is what a vocal section of the fandom is rooting for and if anyone is powerful (and iconic) enough, it would be him.

A very excited Polish fan just posted a new message: “So they finally revealed the title of episode IX in my language (polish). In direct translation it means “Star Wars: Skywalker Resurrection”. I wonder if it has any hidden meaning behind?”

Before anyone gets too carried away, it is important to note that the wording on the Polish poster is “Skywalker Odrodzenie.”

The most common translation of the word is “revival.”

However, it should be noted that the Cambridge Dictionary defines revive as: “To come or bring something back to life, health, existence, or use.”

Not quite as specific as “resurrection”, especially since many fans think the title ‘Rise of Skywalker’ may actually imply more of a movement or concept rather than a particular person. This ties in with Luke’s disappearance and then noble sacrifice appearing to inspire a renewed sense of belief across the galaxy.

Either way, it is clear the Skywalker saga is aiming to go out on a sweeping and inspiring final chapter.

With much of the fandom still rather divided over the massively divisive Last Jedi, let’s hope JJ Abrams manages to revive, or even resurrect, that unifying theme of hope which made the Original Trilogy so very beloved.
