Avengers Endgame: CAPTAIN BRITAIN clue in the subtitles of THIS Captain America scene

Once Spider-Man Far From Home hits screens in July, it is the end of Marvel Phases One to Three. Phase Four already promises new blood with The Eternals, alongside expected Black Widow, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther and Doctor Strange outings but is the UK finally to get their own major MCU hero? Fans on Reddit and reports from French outlets have picked up on a major reveal in the subtitles (close captions in the US) during a time travel scene when Cap watches Peggy Carter at Camp Lehigh. Even though it is impossible to hear what Peggy is talking about through the window, the subtitles confirm she actually says a hugely exciting name.

Reddit user droideka75 (via Screen Rant) posted: “So Peggy Carter in 1970 is very busy, when Cap sees her in her office, talking about some event happening during that time. Can’t recall all of the dialogue, but she says ‘that’s not lightning’ and ‘Braddock.'”

A fellow Redditor wolfthang88 then supplied more information: “Can confirm Peggy walks in and says ‘Braddock hasn’t checked in,’ ‘I’m not a meteorologist’ and ‘it’s not lightning.'”

“Braddock is the last name of Brian Braddock, aka Captain Britain!”

Two French sites have also quickly covered the same information.

Kevin Feige has already acknowledged rumours about Captain Britain joining the MCU: “We have discussed it. There are a lot of actors that come in and ask about that part, so we’ll have to see.”

Captain Britain has grappled with Spider-Man and Captain America in the past and is one of the most powerful Marvel characters.

Essex boy Brian Braddock was imbued with incredible powers by Merlin (Merlyn in the comics) and wore the Union Jack or the British lion emblazoned on his chest, Captain Britain also lead the British superhero team, Excalibur.

There is only one thing standing in the way of Captain Britain hitting the big screen.  

Braddock has a twin sister, Betsy, also known as Psyloche in the comics and recent X-Men films.

However, Feige has clearly said it will be a long while before they look at bringing the X-Men into the main MCU. Captain Britain is much more likely to make an appearance first.
