Avengers Endgame: HUGE hint THIS character is getting a new solo movie VERY soon?

Although several Marvel movies have been confirmed as part of Disney’s release slate for the next few years, nothing has been confirmed as to what specifically those movies will be.

While things like a Black Widow film and introductions for The Eternals and Shang-Chi are believed to be on the cards, there’s not been any official news just yet.

Still, appearing on Good Morning America yesterday, Benedict Cumberbatch’s reaction to one particular question may be a big sign.

Doctor Strange was released in 2016 and made the character of Stephen Strange an instant fan favourite in the MCU.

Marvel have since made it clear that they intend to move forward with a solo sequel at some point, though nothing had been set in stone officially.

But now, has Cumberbatch hinted that it’s coming very soon indeed?

On GMA, an interviewer asked him: “What can you tell us about another Doctor Strange?”

Cumberbatch, who had seconds earlier been effervescent about Avengers: Endgame, made a point of humorously completely ignoring the question – back-pedalling instead to talk about his Met Gala look.

“It’s a good question,” he said coyly.

Later, at the end of the interview, host Robin Roberts told him: “You side-stepped that question brilliantly!”

Given the huge level of secrecy around Marvel projects, could we be due a Doctor Strange sequel announcement in the very near future?

Things are certainly moving in the right direction there: The Hollywood Reporter claimed late last year that Scott Derrickson has been signed up to return as director.

Cumberbatch and his co-star Benedict Wong were both alleged to be confirmed to return, with industry insiders hopeful that Rachel McAdams would come back to reprise Dr Christine Palmer.

Production was said to be planned to begin in early 2020, with release sometime in 2021.

Cumberbatch also hailed Avengers: Endgame on GMA, saying: “I remember Joe [Russo, co-director] pitching it to me and having the hairs on the back of my neck standing up.

“This is extraordinary.”
