Manchester United offer contract terms to Roma star Radja Nainggolan – report
The Belgium international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League with United and Chelsea apparently interested in securing his signature.
But it appears as if the Red Devils have stepped up their efforts to bring him to Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is keen to bolster his midfield ranks as he bids to find a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, who is in the twilight years of his career.
He also wants to find a defensive minded player who can allow Paul Pogba to venture further forward.
And Italian newspaper Il Tempo claim Manchester United offered the 29-year-old a deal to quit the Serie A club.
It is said the Red Devils have proposed personal terms worth £6.6million-a-season after tax to the former Cagliari player.
When asked about United’s interest earlier this month, Nainggolan said: “It can be true, it can be not true, that’s something that you have to know.”
He added: “When you play football you have to make choices and last season my choice was to stay [at Roma].
“We’ll see [what will happen this summer]. I’m going to go on vacation and then we will talk about it.”
Nainggolan enjoyed an impressive season for Roma last term with his 11 Serie A goals and four assists helping his side finish second in the Italian top division.
He is contracted to the club until the summer of 2020.
