Avengers Endgame deleted scenes: THIS Captain America plot hole would have been addressed

WARNING: Spoilers ahead for Avengers Endgame.

In Steve Rogers’ first movie, Captain America: The First Avenger, the Marvel favourite is seen becoming the super-solider that would go on to become an MCU icon.

That film ends with Steve crash-landing his plane into the Arctic, before he is then frozen for nearly 70 years.

Fast-forward to Avengers: Endgame, and the scenes in which the Avengers discuss where to retrieve the Infinity Stones from.

These talks involve them talking back through their experiences in the past films – and at one point, Don Cheadle’s James Rhodes would have asked Steve a fair question.

Christopher Markus told Yahoo!: “We wrote all sorts of sections where we were poking fun at logic holes from the previous movies.

“It got to the point where A) it’s half-hour long, and B) we might be the only people laughing.”

Stephen McFeely added: “The section is about going back to the movies, not talking about going back to the movies – so we may as well get right to the time heist.”

Markus revealed: “We had a whole run where Rhodey was really adamant why Steve couldn’t just jump out of his plane at the end of his own movie.”

“‘Why did you crash the plane? No parachutes on there at all?’” McFeely quipped.

The writers also noticed another slight logic hole.

McFeely said: “There’s other things where frankly if we looked too hard at certain things, you’d realise the stones were in multiple places.

“For example, the Tesseract – the Space Stone – is in a few spots, including in Asgard when they go to get the Aether.

“It’s over there – it’s down the hall!”

But for the sake of simplifying things, they decided that the lock on Odin’s vault was too complex for Thor and Rocket to get through.
