At £243, a Glastonbury Festival ticket  is a prized-position for a music lover and one teenager managed to lose his on the way.

Having arrived in Somerset Dan Saunders, 19, was left in the car after driving down from Bolton, while his friends entered the festival.

However, according to Metro, his dad Andrew, 47, retraced his son’s journey it find the lost ticket.

In the end Andrew found it amid some rubbish at a Tesco petrol station, just before it was emptied.

Son Dan then went on a nine hour journey back to Bolton, arriving home at 3am, to collect it.

Explaining what happened, Andrew said: “Dan thought he’d put the ticket in his glove compartment but he’d put it in his passenger door, along with a load of old receipts.

“When he stopped at Tesco petrol station to fill up, he threw the old receipts and accidentally put the ticket in the bin too.

“When I called the box office at Glastonbury to thank them for their help and let them know we’d found the ticket, I could hear people screaming in the background because they were so happy for him.”

Dad added: “It was pretty incredible that my dad managed to find it. I honestly thought I’d have to go home and miss out.

“I was gutted when I realised at the gates I couldn’t find my ticket. I didn’t know what to do with myself.”
