Lady Gabriella wedding dress: All the ways her dress mimicked Kate and Meghan's

Lady Gabriella Windsor has married her long-term partner after their engagement was announced in September 2018.  She chose to have her royal wedding at Windsor castle, which is where both Meghan Markle and Princess Eugenie got married last year.  As well as choosing the same wedding venue, it seems Lady Gabriella may have looked to other members of her family for inspiration on her big day.  Lady Gabriella’s wedding dress had similarities to the dresses of both Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.

The royal looked stunning as she headed into her wedding in a pretty white dress with lace sleeves. 

The dress was covered in daisies and was believed to be a bespoke design by Luisa Beccaria, an Italian designer who specialises in wedding dresses.

Meghan Markle also opted for a foreign fashion house, albeit with a British designer in the form of Clare Waight Keller.

Although, Kate opted to have her dress made by by British brand Alexander McQueen. Regardless, Gabriella’s dress had a number of similarities to those of other royals.

Lady Gabriella’s dress appeared to have a white satin bodice covered in a lace design which continued down to her sleeves.

This is similar to the design of Kate Middleton’s dress, which also had similar lace detail.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

This dress also had a bandeau bodice which was covered in a lace floral pattern to her sleeves.

Kate Beavis, who runs the blog magpiewedding.com, said: “I think there are some nods to Kate’s dress with the lace bodice and long sleeves but here feels more modern. Beautifully elegant.”

Lady Gabriella also appeared to take inspiration from Meghan Markle’s Givenchy wedding dress when finding the design of her own.

She opted for a simple design and chose to wear a cathedral veil similar to the one worn by Meghan.

Lady Gabriella and the Duchess of Sussex also both wore veil’s which had flowers embroidered into the design.

Kate explained: “Lady Gabriella has chosen the Italian designer, Luisa Beccaria for her wedding dress with a simple yet elegant design – something that has been very popular since Meghan’s Givenchy dress last year.

“Lady Gabriella has updated this with the pretty delicate lace details and a 6 metre veil.

“She has chosen a high neckline and long sleeves. For me, the veil is what excites me – it is made from layers of pink and white tulle with hand embroidered flowers.”

Many members of the Royal Family turned up to watch Lady Gabriella say her nuptials and were spotted in a number in of stylish outfits.
