Melania Trump stuns at state dinner with Donald Trump in see-through white dress

Melania Trump wore a see-through white dress tonight with Donald Trump to dine with the Queen tonight.

The floor length gown had a see-through panel at the front.

Melania wore her hair in a chic up-do and donned white opera gloves. 

She sat next to Prince Charles at the formal dinner.

Royal reporter Rebecca English tweeted claims that Melania was wearing Dior Haute Couture.

The First Lady is a big fan of the designer. Melania Trump’s wedding dress was by the French fashion house. 

The dress, which was worn by the 46-year-old in a 14-page story in Vogue magazine, took 550 hours to embroider and was worth double her step-daughter Ivanka Trump’s.

Melania became Donald Trump’s third wife during the nuptials said to have cost $1 million (£800,576.42).

The dress was sleveless and made with 300 ft of duchesse satin, with a 16 ft veil.

Melania Trump wore a navy and white outfit earlier today, which appeared to have been inspired by Princess Diana. 

Diana wore a series of white and navy skirt suits in the 80s and 90s.

Many chimed in on Melania’s look on Twitter. One said: “Stunning as always, the white dress she wore at the welcome was just marvellous.”

Another wrote: “Here, Melania is wearing a white and midnight blue dress and hat combo, inspired by ‘My Fair Lady’ and designed by Dolce and Gabbana.

“It’s lovely. She’s lovely.”

“I see a bit of Diana in that beautiful dress and hat. The hat slightly tilted Love the French twist on @FLOTUS,” another said.

Languages

Mum-of-one Melania can speak more languages than any other First Lady before her: English, French, German, Italian, Serbian and of course her mother tongue, Slovenian.

This also makes her the only First Lady whose first language is not English.

Religion

After Jacqueline Kennedy, Melania is the second First Lady who is a practising Catholic.

She met Pope Francis as part of a foreign tour with her husband and stepdaughter Ivanka last year.

Career

Melania was a successful model, posing for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ.

Her skills aren’t confined to print, and she appeared in a commercial for Aflac, an American insurance company, in 2005.

Family

Melania’s parents are Amalija Knavs and Viktor Knavs, and the couple live together in Washington.

She has one sister, Ines, who is reported to live in New York and work as an artist.

Charity

On May 7 2018, Melania launched her flagship campaign as First Lady, BE BEST, which The White House describes as “an awareness campaign focused entirely around the well-being of children”.

There are three main strands to the initiative: well-being, social media, and opioid abuse.
