Sophie, Countess of Wessex’s £1.5 MILLION aquamarine tiaras revealed
Sophie, Countess of Wessex is a royal bride, and as such has access to some of the most stunning royal jewels.
And it appears the Countess, who is said to be the Queen’s ‘favourite’, has a jewel she favours most.
The blonde appears to enjoy wearing huge aquamarine stones.
Ailsa Russell Appraiser Prestige Pawnbrokers of Channel 4’s Posh Pawn revealed exclusively to Express.co.uk how Sophie has two tiaras with the stones worth £1.5m.
Ailsa said: “Aquamarines, like emeralds, are a colour scale of the mined gem stone called beryl. Emeralds are green to blue beryls and aquamarines are blue to green beryls.
“Alongside rubies, emeralds, and sapphires, aquamarines are the most popular hard gemstone for jewellery. As most aquamarines are greenish blue, the more intense and saturated the blue colour, the rarer the stone and therefore the more expensive they are.
“However, slightly lighter, but perfectly clear, aquamarines are still incredibly popular and sought after because it is immediately obvious what stone they are. They remain very popular and desirable on the open market, there was a noticeable increase in demand after Meghan Markle wore princess Diana’s Asprey ring.”

Five Aquamarine Tiara – £1m
This stunning tiara has five of the light blue gems.
The piece is delicate and the stones enormous. So what did the expert say?
Ailsa said: “Two of the three tiaras the royal has been known to wear feature incredible designs with aquamarines.
“The ‘Five Aquamarine Tiara’, also coined the ‘Canadian Aquamarine Tiara’ after the Queen wore it on a state visit to Canada in 1970, is a high sitting tiara with floral and ribbon motifs set with diamonds and large aquamarines.
“It appears incredibly delicate given the size of the stones, each perfectly matched sea blue stone is estimated at around 10 carats.
“This tiara is often assumed to be on permanent loan to the Countess from the Queen, and as a royal favourite, it would possible for this tiara to reach £1 million on the open market today.”
Aquamarine Necklace Tiara – £500,000
This piece is interesting, as it is really a two-in-one item.
Ailsa said: “Known as the ‘Aquamarine Necklace Tiara’, the second aquamarine tiara often seen worn by the Countess of Wessex is far more modern in design. Featuring diamond set wave motifs, with a large oval cut blue-green aquamarine in the centre.
“The beautiful piece can also be worn as a necklace, and the Countess of Wessex has worn it as such to many public events.
“Debuted by the Countess in 2005 and unseen on previous Royals it has been assumed that this is part of Sophie’s private collections and the piece has been attributed to famed Royal jewellers G. Collins and Sons.
“The incredible centre stone and fully diamond set metal work, alongside the Royal provenance, make this stunning tiara incredibly desirable and on the open market it could possible reach a value of £500,000.”
