Camilla and Sophie, Countess of Wessex both stun in green at Trooping the Colour 2019
Camilla Parker Bowles and Sophie, Countess of Wessex both went for different shades green at today’s Trooping the Colour. Both the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Edward’s wife were seen travelling in horse-drawn carriages along The Mall for the parade. Camilla was joined by Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. While Sophie was with husband Edward and children Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn. Prince Charles’ wife opted for a mint green coat dress with white lace detail by British fashion designer Bruce Oldfield.
Camilla also wore a cream hat by Irish milliner and royal-favourite Philip Treacy.
The Duchess of Cornwall teamed the outfit with cream gloves on her hands.
She sported pendant pearl earrings in her ears and her four Strand Pearl Choker with Diamond Clasp.
Camilla kept her legs warm for the carriage journey by covering herself with a tartan rug.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex, meanwhile, opted for a bolder shade of green for Trooping the Colour.
The bright green dress featured a funnel neck. The relatively plain design of the number let the Countess’s fashionable fascinator do the talking.
The black flamboyant headpiece tilted to one side and featured elaborate black flowers cascading along the top.
Sophie finished the chic look with large drop studs which appeared to be amber in colour.
Both Camilla and Sophie opted to keep their makeup natural for the occasion.
Lady Louise Windsor emulated her mother’s elegance in a navy dress with a matching fascinator – similar to Meghan Markle’s blue ensemble – while Edward wore full military regalia.
The main event, the Queen, arrived alone to Buckingham Palace, as it was announced her husband Prince Philip was not taking part in this year’s parade.
Rather than her usual bright-coloured ensemble, the Queen was wearing a neutral coloured outfit with pale pink and blue stitching by Angela Kelly.
Sequins were delicately stitched to her hat and in a flower arrangement around the buttons on her coat.
Kate Middleton, meanwhile, wore a pastel yellow coat dress by Alexander McQueen, according to Elle US, which featured a slight V-neck line and structured shoulders.
Alexander McQueen appears to be a favourite of hers when it comes to Trooping the Colour each year.
She also donned a matching colour fascinator, by Philip Treacy, which tilted to the right side of her head and featured a floral and ribbon design on the left.
