Star Wars Episode 9 theory: Is this what will happen to Kylo Ren in the Rise of Skywalker?
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will tie up the Skywalker Saga which began in 1977. Since then, there have been films, video games, comics, figurines, clothes, speakers, tumblers, and now theme parks dedicated to and spawned from Star Wars. Its characters are cherished, even its villains, which leaves many fans wondering what will happen to the main baddie in Episode 9 – Kylo Ren.
What will happen to Kylo Ren at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?
One fan has posited a theory on Reddit which explains what will happen to Kylo Ren, aka Ben Solo.
The user speculated that for JJ Abrams to flat out kill Kylo off as a villain wouldn’t fit with the vibe of Star Wars.
After all, if Darth Vader can redeem himself surely Kylo Ren can too.
Yet, Kylo Ren’s crimes are too serious and egregious to simply be forgiven.
STAR WARS EPISODE 9 RELEASE DATE: WHEN IS THE RISE OF SKYWALKER OUT?
So if Kylo Ren cannot be forgiven and likely won’t die as a villain, he could die as a hero.
However, this parallel to Darth Vader might be too similar for many fans.
The user wrote: “So what is left? Exile. I think Ben will last be seen flying into the unknown regions in search of new purpose.”
The theory may be too cheesy for some, but Star Wars has always maintained an element of sentimentality.
