This Morning's Ruth Langsford on quiet weekends with husband Eamonn Holmes
The couple live in Surrey with their son Jack, 15.
“Friday night is a chill-out night, so we might get a takeaway. I like a curry, but Eamonn prefers Chinese. What we end up getting depends on who orders. Eamonn normally wins because he hasmore patience to wait on the phone to the takeaway.
“We might start the evening watching separate things on TV.
Eamonn likes to watch documentaries and intelligent things. I love to catch up on soaps. Later, we’ll all watch a movie.
“Jack does a lot of sport so we never get a Saturday lie-in. I might go to the gym or keep up with my target of taking 10,000 steps a day, with our dog Maggie, then meet friends for
coffee.
Eamonn has started Pilates and gym work, so he might do that.
“In the afternoon we’ll go for a walk. Painshill Park in Cobham is a favourite spot. In the evening, we might go to a restaurant.
“On Sunday we take Maggie for a walk, then read the papers.
If I do a roast we’ll eat at 5pm.
I might catch up with TV from the night before at the same time as cooking.
“There’s normally a Sunday night drama to watch – at the moment it’s Poldark – but we’ll head to bed at 10pm, ready for the week ahead.”
Ruth and Eamonn present ITV’s This Morning over the summer, Monday-Thursday at 10.30am.
