The Greatest Showman 2: Will Robbie Williams star? Hugh Jackman SPEAKS OUT

Following the huge box office and album success of The Greatest Showman, it makes a lot of sense for Fox to green light a sequel. And now an insider claims Hugh Jackman is lining up a role for Robbie Williams. A source told the Sunday Mirror: “The Robbie and Hugh bromance is just going from strength to strength. Hugh wants space to be made for them to do a number and sing and act in his Greatest Showman sequel.”

The insider added: “Hugh and others are staying quiet until deals with Fox Studios are secured, but he is going to be a producer which means he will have a say on the cast.”

“Robbie even doing one number would be fun.”

However, Jackman’s representatives deny this rumour of Robbie Williams appearing in The Greatest Showman 2.

A spokesperson for the Wolverine actor told Metro.co.uk: “There is no truth to this story.”

Back in April, Jackman gave an update on the highly-anticipated sequel.

Speaking with BBC Radio 2, the 50-year-old said: “The real answer is ‘could be’, I’m not sure.”

“I’m being completely honest with you, there is talk of something going around but no one is really sure.

“I think right now there’s more emphasis being put on what will happen with… I was doing my show, will there be another live version’.”

He continued: “No one is really sure right now, so that’s the honest truth.

“But I think someone is working on a treatment for something… I know they are, they’re working on a treatment for something.”

Asked if he would return as Barnum “at the drop of a hat”, Jackman replied, “I don’t know. I would like to be part of it, for sure, and I don’t know if it would be centred on my character.

“The other thing is, it did take eight years to get [the first movie] made and that wasn’t all eight years of convincing people. It takes a long time to write stuff.”
