Guess which girlband star just signed a MAJOR record deal in surprise pop comeback?
The person in question is Nadine Coyle – the most prominent singer in Girls Aloud.
Coyle, 32, released a solo album, Insatiable, in 2010 while the five-piece were on hiatus; but after releasing it exclusively through Tesco stores, it struggled in the charts and missed the Top 40.
Now, she’s inked a major deal with Virgin EMI, after recording songs with Brian Higgins – the man behind Girls Aloud’s discography.
“I’m so excited to be releasing music again. I’m nervous but really happy to be sharing them finally,” she told The Sun.
“It’s a dream come true to sign a solo deal with a label that’s as brilliant as Virgin EMI.
“The team really share my vision for the album and I can’t wait to start performing again.”
Nadine’s Girls Aloud bandmates have been busy since the group confirmed their split in 2013.
Cheryl recently became a mother and briefly returned to The X Factor, also releasing her fourth solo album Only Human in 2014.
Kimberley Walsh also released a solo album and has become a mother, while Nicola Roberts – whose 2011 solo album was a hit with critics – has written for other artists and Sarah Harding has launched a stage career. She’s also rumoured to be on Celebrity Big Brother this summer.
Coyle made it known that she was against the record-breaking group parting ways, tweeting at the time: “You should know by now I had no part in any of this split business.
“I couldn’t stop them. I had the best time & want to keep going. Xxxx.”
She welcomed her first child, Anaiya Bell, in 2014.
