Star Wars 9 Rise of Skywalker theory: Darth Plagueis created BROTHERS Palpatine and Snoke

Star Wars fans will know that Palpatine was mentored by Darth Plagueis. Now while Darth Sidious created Anakin in the womb of his mother, what if he learnt this technique from his master? After all, Plagueis could have created him. That’s what a new fan theory argues, one that reckons Snoke is involved too.

Reddit user PaleozoicChicken writes: “Has anyone ever speculated that Plagueis created Palpatine?I mean I could see it.

“Plagueis knew how to create life, so he creates the perfect Dark Side apprentice.

“His apprentice then kills him in his sleep after learning his methods, and the apprentice creates even more life in Anakin.

“And some further spitballing: Snoke was created as a backup Palpatine and learned everything from Plagueis as well.

“That’s why he emerges from the shadows in the wake of Palpatine’s death.

“I don’t know, I was just surprised I’ve never seen this idea tossed around. Figured I’d throw it out there.”

Meanwhile, The Rise of Skywalker director JJ Abrams has revealed that George Lucas aided Palpatine’s return for the movie.

Speaking with IGN in April, he said: “This movie had a very, very specific challenge, which was to take eight films and give an ending to three trilogies, and so we had to look at, what is the bigger story?

“We had conversations amongst ourselves, we met with George Lucas before writing the script.

“These were things that were in real, not debate, but looking at the vastness of the story and trying to figure out, what is the way to conclude this?

“But it has to work on its own as a movie, it has to be its own thing, it has to be surprising and funny and you have to understand it.”

He added: “You can’t assume anyone has sat and watched eight movies before this one, and yet I want a kid to be able to watch Episodes I through IX and see that one story.”

While this week, Abrams revealed why Palpatine is returning for The Rise of Skywalker.

He said: “Some people feel like we shouldn’t revisit the idea of Palpatine. And I completely understand that.

“But if you’re looking at the nine films as one story, I don’t know many books where the last few chapters have nothing to do with those that have come before. If you look at the first eight films, all the set-ups of what we’re doing in IX are there in plain view.”
