Star Wars 9: Rey and Kylo Ren set for 'COMPLEX' romance? Star drops huge hint

Fans of Star Wars have been keenly speculating Rey (played by Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren’s (Adam Driver) slightly disturbed connection in the last two films.

In Return of the Jedi, despite Kylo Ren’s twisted behaviour towards Rey, the chemistry was palpable.

In a new interview, actress Ridley has now hinted things will continue to heat up between the characters in the final movie, Rise of Skywalker.

But she made sure to be clear it was a very “complex” issue given the level of Kylo Ren’s “toxic” behaviour.

While Kylo Ren and Rey are not enemies, the true nature of their relationship is yet to be revealed, as Daisy assured: “J.J. does deal it [it].

“It’s a very complex issue.

“People talk about toxic relationships and whatever it is,” the star told Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s no joke and I think it’s dealt with really well because it’s not skimmed over.”

Kylo Ren has a deeply complicated past, being the troubled son of Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford).

The character turned villainous and became the leader of the First Order, but is still dealing with the death of his father.

Ridley went on to discuss the intensity of fan theories doing the rounds at the moment, but she insisted they aren’t a problem.

Ridley said they don’t bother her, and it’s actually “really fun” to hear about the different ideas.

The actress even said she relishes the theories because she’s one of the privileged few people who actually know exactly what’s going to happen in the film.

“Obviously, there’s this whole Reylo thing,” she added casually.

“And some people are very passionate about it, some aren’t.”

Fans will have to wait and see if Kylo Ren and Rey’s ending is satisfying when it comes out before Christmas.

Star Wars 9 Rise of Skywalker is released in cinemas December 20.
