Star Wars Rise of Skywalker TRAILER teaser sees final battle like Avengers Endgame? WATCH
Tonight in the US, the final trailer for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on Monday Night Football on ESPN. In the meantime, teasers for the new footage have appeared online. The latest sees a fleet of Rebellion ships lining up together. Could this be for an Avengers Endgame style final battle against Palpatine?
Interestingly, the shoot sees what looks like The Ghost next to the Millennium Falcon.
Star Wars fans will know The Ghost from the Star Wars Rebels TV show, set just before the original trilogy.
The ship was piloted by Hera Syndulla, among a band of Lothal rebels and made its live-action debut in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Perhaps this means we’ll be introduced to a live-action version of Hera herself?
Seeing The Ghost lining up to the Millennium Falcon with a host of other Rebel ships makes it hard not to think of Avengers Endgame’s final battle.
In the Marvel epic’s climactic scene Marvel superheroes from across the franchise came together for a huge charge against Thanos’ forces.

Considering The Rise of Skywalker is concluding the nine-episode spanning Skywalker saga, perhaps a similar battle with characters from across the franchise altogether is what’s planned.
The Last Jedi was particularly divisive among fans, and presumably, director JJ Abrams will play it safe, as he did with The Force Awakens, for the final outing.
No doubt there will be plenty of fan service, plus what he confirms are some answered questions.
In fact, the director teased a “satisfying” ending for The Rise of Skywalker in a recent interview.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Abrams said: “This is about bringing this thing to a close in a way that is emotional and meaningful and also satisfying in terms of actually answering [as many] questions as possible.”
He added: “So if years from now, someone’s watching these movies, all nine of them, they’re watching a story that is as cohesive as possible.
“While there were many things that were planned for and discussed — George Lucas himself said when he created this he saw it as three, three-act plays — that doesn’t mean there isn’t discovery, that doesn’t mean there aren’t things that come up that make you realize, ‘Oh, here’s an opportunity.’
“It also doesn’t mean that there’s a list of payoffs that we have to do because of setups. But we also were very much aware this is the end of the trilogy and it needs to satisfy.
“We went into this thing knowing it has to be an ending. We’re not screwing around.”
Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker will be released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
