The Addams Family have been in the public domain since their first cartoon outing in 1938. Since then, the family have seen TV series, animated movies and films showing their macabre sensibilities to the world. Here is everything to know about the upcoming animation, The Addams Family.

When is The Addams Family released in cinemas?

The Addams Family will be released in UK cinemas on October 25.

The movie is late coming to the UK, however, having already been released in the USA since October 11.

Other countries such as Spain, Canada, Brazil and Germany have also seen the film, but the UK is still among the first group of countries to see the movie.

Who is in the cast of The Addams Family?

As this is an animated movie, made by MGM and Bron Creative, the cast lend their voices to the movie.

Oscar Isaacs, of Star Wars fame, plays patriarch Gomez, while Charlize Theron is his wife, Morticia.

The children, Wednesday and Pugsley, are voiced by Chloe Grace Moretz and Stranger Things and IT star Finn Wolfhard..

Veteran icon Bette Midler is the voice of Grandma, while Conrad Vernon plays the family’s butler, Lurch, among other voices and Nick Kroll is Uncle Fester.

Various other stars portray small roles including Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short and Tituss Burgess, while Allison Janney plays Margaux, a seemingly friendly neighbour who campaigns to get rid of the family.

Finally, Snoop Dogg has a pretty epic cameo role, as Cousin It.

However, fans may struggle to place his voice, as he certainly doesn’t sound like the rapper we know and love.

What is the plot of The Addams Family?

In this story, the family begin in their diabolical, gothic home, where a wedding takes place.

However, the festivities cause a great deal of problems for the family and they are chased away from their home and forced to move where “no-one” would choose to live – New Jersey.

As they try to settle in somewhere far from their usual comfort, they have to battle for their place as neighbours attempt to remove them again and they try to fit in.

Is there a trailer for The Addams Family?

There is a trailer, opening with a storm surrounding their scary home, as Morticia announces: “What a lovely morning!”

The family are then forced to leave their home and wander around New Jersey, where Pugsley helps himself to a sip from a dog’s bowl.

Their neighbour, Margaux (Allison Janney) tries to welcome them before finding their ways too strange.
