Fernandes U-turn

Manchester United always insisted they were never in for Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes during the summer transfer window.

But reports in Portugal say the Red Devils are, along with Tottenham, interested in signing the 25-year-old during the January transfer window.

Manchester United have struggled for creativity in the middle of the park with Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata both struggling this season.

And Portuguese newspaper A Bola say that the Red Devils are eyeing a move for Fernandes in the New Year.

Erling Braut Haaland and Jadon Sancho deals

Manchester United are confident of bringing Erling Braut Haaland to the club, and are likely to revisit their interest in Jadon Sancho, it has been claimed.

£85million-rated Haaland has been linked with a move to Old Trafford that would see him link up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was his manager at Molde.

United have also been tipped to reignite the interest they showed in signing £100m-rated Sancho last summer, but neither deal is likely to be done in January.

The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell has revealed that Haaland moving to Old Trafford is very much a possibility.

Wanted: Ricky-Jade Jones

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are fighting to sign Peterborough forward Ricky-Jade Jones.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim the Premier League trio have been monitoring the teenage talent throughout the season.

Tottenham previously saw a £2million bid rejected by the third-placed League One side.

Leicester, Manchester City, Southampton and Burnley are also said to have scouted the 17-year-old, who scored his first goal for the club in an EFL Trophy tie against Cambridge United.

Eddie Nketiah decision

Leeds expect Arsenal to recall Eddie Nketiah in January.

Nketiah, 20, arrived at Elland Road in August and his since endeared himself to supporters with five goals and an assist in 12 appearances.

However, Football Insider claim Unai Emery’s side can activate a ‘recall clause’ in the deal should Nketiah not play a certain number of competitive minutes.

The report claims Leeds are already looking to replace the striker in the transfer window and ease the burden on centre-forward in Patrick Bamford.

Chris Smalling to Roma

The agent of Chris Smalling has touched down in Italy to negotiate a permanent transfer with Roma.

Smalling, 30, joined the Serie A club in August and has quickly endeared himself to supporters with two goals, one assist and four clean sheets in 11 appearances.

But it appears they’ll have to spend big to secure his services.

Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera claim Manchester United still value Smalling at £15million.
