Paul Potts SPEAKS OUT on Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor: Shows had their day? EXCLUSIVE
Potts replied: “No, I think as long as they’re finding fresh new talent. They do have to reinvent themselves from time to time, to keep it fresh.
“I do think they give people opportunities that they wouldn’t get otherwise. I wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing now without Britain’s Got Talent. So I think there is a place for them.”
Speaking about his new album, the star said: “It’s mainly West End and Broadway show tunes with some Opera in their too, including a new recording of Nessun Dorma.
“It’s longer and my voice is better than it was ten years ago, so it will sound great.”
Looking back at the decade since his Britain’s Got Talent win, he said: “Well I feel really old. There’s a few more grey hairs than there were. Everytime a Just For Men advert comes on my wife points at it.”
Potts added: “It’s still quite amusing in some ways. I’m still doing what I love doing at a high level after 10 years.
“Not everybody gets that opportunity, not everybody get to do that, so I’m incredibly grateful to the people who have supported me over the last 10 years. It still doesn’t feel like work, which is a great thing.”
Paul Potts: On Stage will be released on October 13, 2017.
