Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: One detail would HUGELY improve Darth Vader transformation

The Star Wars prequels are often criticised for being the worst trilogy in the Skywalker saga. And now a fan has pointed out how one detail during Anakin’s transformation in Revenge of the Sith would have greatly improved the movie. Simply that Darth Vader should have used his red lightsaber in his duel on Mustafar against Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Reddit user TercerImpacto writes: “Anakin’s storyline in the prequels mainly builds up to the climactic moment where he becomes the ruthless villain Vader, however, Revenge of the Sith falls a little short on displaying how terrible this transformation actually is.

“From the moment he betrays the Jedi and becomes a sort of an assassin/initiate for Palpatine, to the moment he is left maimed and wears the black suit for the first time, he only has a few minutes on screen.

“Now, I love how those sequences are managed and I love them as they are, but 16 years later we can say that the “sith baptism” scene is not very iconic by itself, and we’re left only with a hooded Anakin instead a full-fledged Vader.

“Whenever these parts of the film are discussed, people never even refer to him as Darth Vader, even though he is.”

They added: “Obi-Wan would get the blue lightsaber from the office floor after the scene where he sees the security holograms with Yoda.

“The younglings scene and the Mustafar duel would look much more intense with the red saber, and the story and film would remain basically the same. “We’d get a better look of Vader ‘in his prime’, and a better closure of gaps with the Original Trilogy.”

Meanwhile, an insider who correctly predicted plot elements of The Rise of Skywalker claims a Darth Vader movie return is on the way.
