England 33-30 Wales: Eddie Jones’ side finish with 13 men to win Six Nations Triple Crown
England 33-30 Wales
– Anthony Watson, Elliot Daly and Manu Tuilagi touched over the line for England while and Dan Biggar and Justin Tipuric scored late to make it a more respectable scoreline.
– Owen Farrell was once again excellent with the boot, converting all three tries as well as adding three more penalties.
– Ellis Genge ended the game in the sin-bin after diving into the ruck.
– Manu Tuilagi was sent off after being penalised for leading with his shoulder in a tackle on George North with five minutes left leaving England with 13 men on the field.
England head coach Eddie Jones
“Every time we come to Twickenham we’ve got 82,000 peole here, and our job is to play good rugby and nothing’s changed.
“Like most teams, we take every game as it comes. You can’t afford to look ahead. The only game we’ve been worrying about is Wales.”
Wales head coach Wayne Pivac
“Josh [Navidi] is very good over the ball but he will start after a long time out so we will expect Toby [Faletau] to come on at some stage.
“We have talked about eliminating some of those errors but also taking some of those opportunities.”
4pm: Good afternoon and welcome to the return of the Six Nations for the fifth game week. Plenty on the line this week with England’s first priority being trying to secure the Triple Crown.
Wales stand in their way but they haven’t been up to scratch in these championships, losing to both France and Ireland in their last two games.
England still have a chance of winning the championship though if they’re able to beat Wales, but they’re relying on France losing to either Scotland and Ireland over the next week.
45 minutes until this one gets underway though so stay tuned for live updates throughout.
